Under 15’s are into the quarter finals of the OMFL Knockout Cup with a convincing win away at Bure Park.

11th December 2016, Oxford Mail Youth League, Knockout Cup away at Bure Park 2pm ko

Starting line up: Cameron, Brian, Josh, Ben, Dan, Zac, Ciaran (Capt) Matt, Jack, Jaja, Fish, Subs: Tom, Archie, Arron (both Archie & Arron having slight knocks)

The under 15’s travelled north up the A34 for their first visit to Bure Parks ground for their 2nd round match in the OMYL Knockout Cup. H&H kicked off the first half going down the slope and quickly got into their rhythm, their first attack resulting in a corner, not long after a well placed through ball from Dan playing at right back to Fish brought a good save from the keeper. H&H kept up the pressure on Bure Park and this resulted in the first goal of the game, a pass down the line from Brian to Jaja enabled him to use his strength and speed to go past the defender and cut into the penalty area, his precise shot across the goal found the corner of the net. Another H&H attack allowed Matt time and space to unleash a shot from just outside the penalty area which was blocked on the line by a defender, a few minutes later and after great passing in the H&H midfield it was Zacs turn to have a shot at goal, the Bure Park keeper tipping Zacs shot over the bar for a Corner. More neat passing from H&H and Matt had another shot at goal, his low effort just drifting wide of the Bure Park right post. Neat interplay on the right between Fish and Jaja, saw Jaja’s shot also going just wide of the post, it seemed only a matter of time before H&H would score again and Jaja duly obliged with his 2nd goal of the game from a cross by Zac. Less than a minute later and Jaja completed his hatrick from a cross by Fish. By now Bure Park were pretty much chasing shadows as H&H were able to pass the ball around with ease and controlled the match. With the Bure Park defence in a bit of a mix up, Fish latched on to a loose ball and put H&H 4 nil up. 5 minutes later and a pass from Jack to Fish saw the ball crossed for Zac to head in H&H’s 5 goal, H&H made a substitution bringing Tom on for Brian at left back, just before half time Matt had another shot from outside the box which the keeper got his fingers to, tipping the ball over the bar for a corner.

Half time: Bure Park 0 – H&H 5

Bure Park kicked off the 2nd half with the advantage of the slope, almost immediately Zac intercepted the ball, jinked passed 2 defenders and shot low into the far corner, not the start Bure Park were hoping for. From the kick off H&H regained possession of the ball and soon Jaja scored his 4th goal from a well fed pass from Matt. To spice up the game a little Zac decided to test the Referee’s patience and duly found himself with a yellow card (not the sort of Xmas card Paul & Emma were hoping for) H&H made another substitution Fish making way for Brian, with Jack moving to striker he made his presence felt almost immediately with a typical poachers goal, getting on the end of loose ball in the 6 yard box. Zac then made amends for his misdemeanour by getting his hatrick goal from a great pass by Jaja. Jack then picked up his 2nd goal of the game with a fierce shot into the roof of the net. Jack then turned provider, taking a corner on the left, with Josh coming in at the near post, he leapt like a Salmon and headed the ball past the keeper. Although Bure Park were well beaten, the Bure Park keeper made some outstanding saves, credit should also be given to whole Bure Park team who played with great dignity and spirit.

Full time score Bure Park 0 – Harwell & Hendred 11
